I'm hiding over here!

These past few weeks have probably been one of the most challenging to date. Emotionally draining, stressful and ones that I'll on the whole be glad to see the back of.  I decided it was best not to put lots of half hearted posts that I'd wait a while, taking time to figure out what I'm going to do. I'm starting to practise yoga / pilates again although this little guy seems to think this time is for him! It definetly feels good to have something that grounds me and calms me whilst everything is crazy around here.

This no make-up selfie for Cancer Research is also something I never thought I'd do! I never go out without make-up on and with my body hang ups I was so nervous about hitting 'post' on Facebook. But hey, this picture won't kill me unlike cancer that does. It's devastated my family and unfortunately continues to do so. I've donated to Cancer Research and if you haven't, please can you consider doing so by texting 'BEAT' to 70007. So face, these no make-up selfies have raised two million pounds!

I finished off this week with a hot bubble bath and a glass of red, it was much needed and so far I've spent the morning doing absolutely nothing. Hopefully this week I'll have something new and exciting to tell you, but for now I'm going to get my butt off the sofa and stretch out these aches and pains!

Have a great weekend.

Sunny days = Pretty dresses

How much better and happier does it seem when the sun is shining and the birds are singing? I for one, found getting up this morning much easier with the sun peaking through the curtains. Megan woke in a much happier mood and although I would love it to continue, I am being realistic and just making the most of it whilst it lasts, as I know how unpredictable it is likely to be around these parts.

Technically it is my day off today, but as always there is so much to do and I headed into town this morning for a meeting.  It was nice however to be able to leave my heavier winter coat at home and instead put on my leather jacket that has rarely seen the light of day recently.  Although I stuck with these River Island boots and some thick tights it was nice to put on a silky dress from Yumi and feel hopeful that it won't be long until I'll no longer (fingers crossed) be living in jeans or trousers every day to keep me warm.

The cats have also been enjoying the sunny weather and sprawling themselves out in the warmth of the conservatory - oh to be a cat and lounge all day!

Weekend catchup

This post is a bit later in the day than I had planned but better late than never! Friday evening, I took the train to Somerset during which I was able to spend an hour listening to music, catching up on emails and watching the most beautiful sunset and I headed out of the city and into the countryside.

It seemed like in no time I had arrived in Somerset (it always seems longer when Megan is with me!) and headed out for dinner at a country pub before catching up and getting an early night.

I woke up to beautiful weather on March 1st, perfect for celebrating St. David's Day even if I was in England! I decided to make the most of the lovely weather and took two girls bouncing with energy for a walk down the country lanes to the park. Although the sun was warm, after an hour or so it got a bit chilly so we headed back to the house for some lunch.

The visit was cut shorter than planned due to a few things popping up, so in the afternoon we headed for a cuppa at the tea rooms at the station and I headed back to Cardiff. When I arrived back, I was greeted by crowds of people dressed up. It was quite bizarre and I wondered what on earth was going in, I'd not even been gone for 24 hours and it was as though the station had been invaded! When I saw the direction they were coming from as I was leaving the station, I remembered that Comic Con was taking place at the Motorpoint Arena! It was so busy with this going on aswell as the St. David's Day parade that was taking place. It was lovely to see so many Welsh Flags and daffodils around the city. It's a shame but I was in a rush and didn't stop to take any photos. I picked a poorly Megan up from my friends and spent the rest of the weekend looking after her. To be fair though the sunshine disappeared yesterday and the rain returned.

I'm grateful to be home this evening as it's been a manic Monday and I'm very achey with a headache. I think I'll be spending the rest of the evening in bed with a herbal tea, painting my nails!

I hope that you had a lovely weekend? Have you managed to get through Monday unscathed?

Happy St. David's Day!

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus I pawb - Happy St. David's Day everyone. I'm ironically in Somerset on this very Welsh day, but I have daffodils and am making this little corner of England Welsh for the morning! St David's Day usually signals the start of spring and I have to say although very frosty, the sun is out and it feels very spring like. Typically though, I forgot my camera and the iPhone pics looked poor so here's a delightful stock photo instead :)

We are going to the park to enjoy the sun, so have a lovely day whatever you're doing.
